Atty. Eddie Bouy Palad, Director of the Research Integrity and Compliance Office and Dean of the College of Computer Studies, served as one of the featured panelists at the First National Conference on Research Integrity held on February 12–13, 2026 at the Rizal Park Hotel, Manila.

Bringing the institutional perspective to the national stage, Atty. Atty. Palad shared the panel with fellow research and academic integrity advocates, including Atty. Roberto Villanueva, MD of the West Visayas State University, Prof. Bernadette Heizel Reyes, MD of the University of the Philippines Manila, Prof. Daniel Barr, PhD of RMIT University Australia and Prof. Mai Har Sham, PhD of the Chinese University of Hong Kong. The diverse composition of the panel enabled a comparative discussion of global and local integrity frameworks, institutional policies, and emerging compliance challenges.

The conference gathered more than 331 participants from 30 academic institutions across the Philippines. Carrying the theme “Improving Philippine Research Systems with Research Integrity,” the assembly tackled foundational principles of research integrity, common ethical issues, and strategies to promote responsible authorship and credibility in scientific publications and professional societies.

Through his participation, Atty. Palad reinforced 91³Ô¹Ï-IIT’s commitment to advancing ethical research governance and strengthening institutional mechanisms that uphold accountability, transparency, and scholarly excellence in the Philippines’ evolving research landscape.
