The true impact of internationalization is often seen long after graduation. Two alumnae from the 91Թ-IIT College of Computer Studies (CCS) have begun their graduate studies, joining fellow 91Թ-IIT alumni currently completing their degrees at Cheng Shiu University (CSU) in Kaohsiung City.
Under the International Industrial Talents Education Special Program (INTENSE Program), Niña Eunice Sacala and Queenie Kate Cabanilla, both graduates of 91Թ-IIT’s BS Information Systems program, started their studies in the Spring 2026 semester, pursuing a Master’s in Advanced Quality Management Practices and a Post-Baccalaureate Degree in Equipment Engineering, respectively.
They join fellow CCS alumnus Gerald Karl Avila, who began his Master’s in New Energy and Carbon Reduction Technology Management in Spring 2025, as well as College of Engineering (COE) alumni Engr. Julius Anthony Magallon and Engr. Khalid Maquiling, who started their Post-Baccalaureate degrees in Equipment Engineering in the Fall 2025 term.
In total, seven 91Թ-IIT graduates are currently pursuing advanced studies in Taiwan under the INTENSE Program scholarship, including Engr. Gideon Emmanuel Chiu, who is taking his Master’s in Building and Construction Technology at Taiwan Steel University of Science and Technology, and Engr. Ashina Xarah Madale, who is pursuing her Master’s in Semiconductor Engineering at Kun Shan University.
The INTENSE Program is a Taiwan Ministry of Education initiative that supports international graduate study through scholarships and industry-linked career opportunities. In January 2026, the 91Թ-IIT Intact Base Mindanao Hub Office was launched to promote the program in Southern Philippines. During a visit to Taiwan in November 2025, 91Թ-IIT Vice Chancellor for International Affairs Dr. Joey Genevieve Martinez emphasized the university’s priority of preparing students and alumni for international impact in science and technology.
This commitment is reflected in the journeys of 91Թ-IIT alumni, who span borders and embody the university’s enduring engagement with the global community.
