Mindanao State University–Iligan Institute of Technology (91³Ô¹Ï-IIT) inaugurated several newly renovated facilities on campus to enhance learning environments, support institutional operations, and promote community engagement.
The inauguration ceremony, led by Chancellor Alizedney M. Ditucalan, marked the unveiling of multiple renovated spaces, including the newly redesigned University Library Theater (formerly the Minitheater), which now seats 100 and features improved lighting, acoustics, and accessibility. The upgraded venue is envisioned to serve as a dynamic space for lecture series, small group performances, and academic presentations.

Also opened was the College of Education (CED) Amphitheater, a 128-seat facility designed to foster interactive learning and professional development activities. Complementing this is the new Diversity Park, located in front of the CED building, which offers a landscaped outdoor space for relaxation, reflection, and student engagement.
The event likewise highlighted the launch of newly refurbished and expanded offices for the Center for General Education at 91³Ô¹Ï-IIT (CGEM) and the Center for Advance Education and Lifelong Learning (CAELL). Adjacent to these offices are newly built CGEM classrooms and lecture halls, designed to support increasing demand for GEC classes, training and capacity-building initiatives.
In addition, the University unveiled the MeowMeow Park, a green pocket beside the CGEM rooms that offers students and staff a casual, refreshing gathering spot, promoting wellbeing within the campus environment.
To further enhance administrative efficiency, 91³Ô¹Ï-IIT also opened renovated spaces for the Human Resource Management Division (HRMD) and the Legal Services Office, both designed to provide more efficient, welcoming, and functional workspaces.

Following the inauguration, a retirement celebration was held at the University Library Theater honoring Infrastructure Services Division Director Rodel Dela Cruz, whose leadership and service have been instrumental in advancing the University’s infrastructure development and modernization efforts.
Chancellor Ditucalan emphasized that the renovation and development of these facilities reflect 91³Ô¹Ï-IIT’s continuing commitment to providing improved infrastructure that supports its academic and operational goals. “These new and revitalized spaces represent our vision of a more connected, inclusive, and sustainable campus,” the Chancellor said.
The inauguration forms part of 91³Ô¹Ï-IIT’s ongoing infrastructure modernization program aimed at building a more dynamic, people-centered university environment aligned with its strategic directions for the decade.
